Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer III               
             
             
Basic Purpose                
 
Provide direct support in the management of Environmental, Health and Safety for all Scottsville/Franklin locations- Components Division by working with corporate, management, associates and contractors.  Manages the safety programs for the components facilities to ensure the safety of all associates.  Ensuring compliance with SEWS, SWS and governmental safety rules, laws and regulations as well as EHS and ISO standards.
 
Basic Position Duties                                   
  • Ensure compliance of company operations with federal, state, local and company requirements (OSHA, EPA, ISO, Company Global Standards).
  • Maintain EHS written programs, work instructions, forms. Perform annual reviews, updates, training as necessary.
  • Drive awareness and accountability of EHS functions through all levels of organization.
  • Promote and participate in associate involvement programs such as CIA’s, committees, and trainings.
  • Conduct EHS auditing requirements (daily, weekly, monthly, annual). Track findings and completion of noted items.
  • Conduct Industrial hygiene analyses (noise, chemical, air, etc.), PPE assessment, ergonomic assessments.
  • Complete EHS data tracking and reporting.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspection activities related to EHS.
  • Provide EHS topics and awareness efforts to organization on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Complete environmental management activities including: ISO14001 compliance, Tier II, Form R, KY Industrial Stormwater Discharge permit, waste management, chemical management.
  • Conduct accident investigations, tracking, countermeasure and preventative action development / completion.
  • Oversee EHS concerns, near-misses, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop, coordinate, and/or instruct EHS-related trainings: new hire orientation, annual OSHA training, toolbox safety topics, SWS required training, and other as needed.
  • Coordinate emergency procedures including review, updates, training, and drills to test effectiveness (emergency evacuations, take cover, spill response, etc.). Maintain company contingency plans.
  • Complete SWS safety activities: risk assessments and hazard prediction activities, specialized trainings and awareness activities, audits and verifications, and other as needed.
  • Some travel required, including domestic and international (0-15%).
  • Complete special request or other duties as assigned.
  • Other tasks as assigned
 
Position Requirements                 
 
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related; Previous experience preferred. 5-7 years progressive professional experience; Must possess good communication skills and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams including maintenance and engineering associates; Excellent computer skills – Word, Excel & PowerPoint; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; Ability to work under deadlines; Willingness and ability to provide 24/7 support for emergency situations.
